As reported by the News Department of Imam Reza (A.S) International Foundation for Culture& Arts, Samereh Alinezhad, the mother who has forgiven the murderer of his son, attended the closing ceremony of the Ninth Public Festival of "A Letter to Imam Reza (A.S)" and was honored.
"If it was not for Imam Reza (A.S), I would not have forgiven the murderer of my son", Turkey's Mother of the Year said.
"I kept thinking that if I do not stab the murderer with the same blade that he stabbed my child with, I am not a true mother" she continued, mentioning further that until the last moment it was not possible for her to forgive the murderer of her son.
Alinezhad noted, "The Qisas verdict was first issued in the month of Safar and as this month is a month of prohibitions [Haram] and also because I was afraid that implanting the verdict in such a month might bother Imam Hussein (A.S), I asked for implementation of Qisas to be postponed to a later time."
"The second time, the implementation of Qisas was simultaneous with the approach of Nowruz and I did not want a family to become mournful in Nowruz and therefore I again asked for the time of the Qisas verdict" to be changed, she continued.
Stating that she also did not want Qisas to be implemented after Nowruz, in Ayyame Fatemiyeh (Days of Mourning for Fatemeh (S.A.)), she noted, "In forgiving the murderer of my son, first God and then the
Ahlul Bayt helped me".
"I have felt the hand of God on my shoulders twice in my life; once in the Hajj pilgrimage, when I was very sick and could hardly walk and yet God helped me to perform the Tawaf rituals without having to use a wheelchair; and also when the prison door opened for the implementation of the Qisas verdict, I felt the hand of God on my shoulders once more and I could forgive the murderer of my son" said Alinezhad.
In this ceremony, the painting 'Zamen-e Ahou' (Imam Reza (A.S) and the Deer Hunter) and the statue of the Festival were awarded to Samereh Alinezhad.
